“The new industrial revolution is a two-edged sword. It may be used for the benefit of humanity, but only if humanity survives long enough to enter a period in which such a benefit is possible. It may also be used to destroy humanity, and if it is not used intelligently it can go very far in that direction.”

— Norbert Wiener, The Human Use of Human Beings, 1950

In the Fall 2015 issue of Technology & Society Magazine, an opinion piece by filmmaker J. Mitchell Johnson announced a multimedia project and campaign to bring Norbert Wiener “back to life” (Click here to read this piece) via The Norbert Wiener Media Project.

It begins now. The Wiener Media Project’s first piece, The System: Channeling Norbert Wiener, is poised for development. This feature-length documentary promises to be a kind of “inconvenient truth” for the information age. Johnson has recruited filmmakers Robert M. Elfstrom, William Cran, and Executive Producer John Hollar to join him in making the film. Supported by an impressive Team of talented and inspired people on both sides of the camera, the Team will oversee the film for its distribution to festivals, movie theaters, television, and video-on-demand channels worldwide.
